Keep Track

Inspired by my research, studies have proved those who heavily use turn-by-turn navigation become unaware of their surroundings. Whereas those who use paper maps generate internal pictures of an environment.

Keep Track is a multi-layered information map of Education City (Qatar) on a pair of trousers.
Layer 1 – combination of the roads and sidewalks.
Layer 2 – buildings around the city.
Layer 3 – QR codes that a user can scan using their phone to give them information about traditional inspirational elements that are incorporated into the buildings.

The map is only a small part of the city, which allows the user to explore hidden areas. Different colored strings are attached to the belt loop and hidden inside the pocket. The final outcome is for someone to create their own routes by pulling the strings out of their pocket and wrapping it around the black pinpoints (removable) to mark where they have been. Whether someone is walking, taking the bus or a passenger in a car, they can construct multiple routes with the different colored strings.
